It seemed that yesterday was a busy bee day for me. There were loving the bottle brush tree while I was looking for seed pods and then it appeared someone had made a whole nest angry by putting a stick in their hive.
For a moment, I actually considered pulling the stick out, but dealing with angry bees is something I’d rather pass on. I’ll be passing by it again soon enough and if the bees have settle down, I’ll take it out.
One thing I have learned over the years is that if you respect nature, nature respects you (kind of like people). I’ve allowed bees, bugs and other critters sit on me or be close to me and as long as i didn’t swat them or try to kill them, they just rested for a minute, then went on their merry way.
But when nature is angry, its better to wait until it calms down to enjoy it.
Other exciting things the last few days is I had a hankering to plant some chives, so I got a couple of tiny pails and planted seeds. And my amaryllis is sprouting new growth!
I also finished the flamingo someone asked me to make. I will never ever do one by request again. It’s a chore! This thing gave me such a hard time and when I got it finished and was about to take a picture, a gust of wind came by and blew it over, knocking one of the feet off. But I finished it and I think it came out pretty ok.
Last, but definitely not least is the alligator I found sunning himself along the waterway.
Anyway, that’s all for now. I’ll be heading to Venice in a couple of days.
Today’s tidbit: Appreciate the people in your life today, today. Waiting until tomorrow maybe too late.
Just a quick… I can’t believe what just happened! An alligator just ran in front of me! I have definitely got to get a body cam!
