You know the old saying, “when it rains, it pours”? Seems like I’m in a pouring mode at the moment. I was heading to the camping grounds between Ft. Myers and Punta Gorda. My plan was to get some brain rest because I was really upset at people getting into my stuff at the library. The library is supposed to be a “safe zone”. But, when I got to the camp ground it appeared to be closed down.
I guess I should be glad I didn’t stop because I had not bought anymore food yet. I am now currently in Punta Gorda. Punta Gorda means “Fat Point”.
I began exploring the area this morning and found the river walk. As soon as I started walking down the path, I could only smile and chuckle because I was reminded of Sebastian, FL. A place where you need to learn how to say “Good morning” to everyone. And this was a very very busy path. There was a cyclist group of about 20 that was riding around and there were many individuals riding their bikes also. There were lots and lots of people walking dogs, running, exercising, and walking.
Along the path, there are at least 9 little parks with different things like pickle ball, tennis and a large playground. And everyone along the way said “good morning”. I picked a spot to park the bike and get a few photos, including one of the bridge I will be going over when I leave here. But I think I might hang out a few days and get to know this area better. It seems nice enough to stay here, but I don’t make decisions on first appearances.
Oh man, I almost forgot to tell you about the library here. Its only about 6 months old and it is absolutely beautiful. The computer area isn’t side by side like most libraries. Each one has its own little cubicle. There area also several tables and lots of cushy chairs around. To top it off they have rocking chairs in the front. One of the services they offer is the ability to check out a laptop to use while here. It probably one of the nicer ones I’ve been in.
Well, that’s all for now. Ya’ll have a great one.
Today’s tidbit: Friends don’t let friends drown.
